Ok, well, after the terrible time I had with my P4C800 not wanting to go above 165FSB, I decided to try out the IC7. All I can say is that I really like this board! I had some problems with it at first, but a quick CMOS clear and life was good. I am currently sitting at 180MHZ FSB and my SL6S2 is at 3.42GHZ! I need some help though, it seems that I have two problems, first off, my memory scores seem low, I am only getting in Sandra 2003 3962/3974 (H/W BS @ 533 and memory at 2-3-3-6), and I am seeing others with much higher memory scores than mine and was wondering if there is something that I need to configure? Does the Intel AA program help with these and if so is there a version made for the Canterwood boards? The other thing is that I have my processor Vcore at 1.55V and for some reason with my thermaltake Sprak 7 Copper HSF the motherboard shows my temps running at idle around 47-48 degrees and at load around 58-59 degrees. I know that the Abit boards are known to show inflated numbers from their sensors, but on the P4C800 my temps were around 38-40 degrees at idle and 50-52 at load! Should I look into another HSF? Or should I just ignore it and mark it up to the Abit sensors? I'm running some benches now and this board is rockin, I'm gonna go for 185MHZ FSB here in a minute...

Cool. Glad it's working well for ya. :)

The temp thing... I wouldn't worry about it too much.. You *should* see a 1~2C drop in temp once the AS settles in. My chip idles at around ~43C, and my max load temp was ~55C, so I guess it looks consistent... (having to deal through IT7 Max2 & BH-7, I don't even think about the temps all that much... :disgust: )

As for the mem score, I wouldn't put much into Sandra scores (many here will agree with me :p). I got 4601/4602 in Sandra, but under HW533 setting, my Kingstons are running 2-2-2-6, coupled with 6+ fsb, so I think your score looks about right.

Crank'er up and report back~ :)

How can those temps be accurate when on my Asus board they were 5-6 degrees cooler using same chip and same heatsink combo? I'll try the new BIOS, seems to have a lot of fixes in it!

Hmmm, how was the Asus wrong? I read that Abit was the company that had problems with temp read outs...and that's a large discrepency in one direction or another, also how can this cooler made out of copper be less effective in cooling my chip than the stock Intel cooler?

I think the IC7 reads a little high, but not as bad as IT7 & BH7. Asus might be a little low, so just take the average of the two and it should give a good estimate. :p

at this rate, there will not be a review.
a flamethread maybe, (gbay vs cwood) but not a review ;)

hmmm, sounds good, I think I'm going to pickup a MCX4000 since this board is overclocking so well, and also because I want to keep my processor cool!

I had a SLK900U on my Athlon setup, I'll look into getting it on this one...BTW, running stable at 3.42GHZ no problems...not going any higher until I get better cooling...
