my hdd isn't in udma mode :Q

my mobo is a 7dxr
my OS is winxp
my hdd is maxtor 30gig 7200 ata100


my bios is reading the hdd as a PIO mode 4...how do i change it to UDMA 5??

don't know if this will help you but i checked mine in xppro and its in udma 5 so
control panel/system/device manager/ide ata atapi controllers/primary ide/advanced settings/transfer mode=dma if available ... current transfer mode = udma 5
if its listed here you are in dma 5 if not?
check bios for dma modes and also proper cabling to drive

it's set for "use udma if available", but it says currently running in multi-word dma mode 2. i just installed this mobo, i had an asus a7v13r, and udma 5 worked like a charm. i don't know what's wrong :(
