I am a computer tech on a college campus and I went to a call this morning and they said that the computer just crashed. I figured it was harddrive, it wouldn't boot, so I went into BIOS and there was no sign of a harddrive at all, i was just wondering what would of remove the harddrive from the Bios, I have had crashed harddrives before but it never got erased from BIOS.

Did the power cable come unplugged? If not, something must have happened to the drive. Is it even spinning when you turn the PC on?

This happened to me just the other day on one of my user's PCs. They had an IBM drive go dead. Didn't show up in BIOS, didn't even spin up. Was told that the previous day it was making clicking noises. Told 'em it's all gone and to buy a new HD.
