My grandma had a stroke

My grandfather had a stroke at 85 a number of years ago. He was in New Zealand, I was in Canada...obviously didn't get out there. He didn't last much longer than a few days. I've always wished that I could turn back time and at least be there during those last few days. If you're able, call off work and visit as much as you can -- family is always first.

This is jumping the gun a bit but I hope she survives and assuming she does, I suggest you go to Amazon.com or a book store right now.

I know a lady named Cleo Hutton. Earlier in her life she had a stroke. Her recovery was alright but she noticed during her free time that no one had a written any books about life after a stroke. There had been hundreds of books made about stroke itself, but none on how to get your life back together after you've had one.
So she wrote it.

Its called Striking Back at Stroke.

It talks about almost every thing from a few years before the stroke to life afterwards, and I highly recommend you get it right now to have as a gift for your grandma someday.

If anyone wants to hear a personal story I'd be happy to share that as well.

Even if things go bad after this stroke, at least she can be content about living a long, full life. Imagine everything she experienced during her 94 years. Hopefully there will be more, but we all must take a vacation eventually. I agree with above posters - try to spend time either with your grandmother or with some other family while you can. 🙂

I wonder what life was like growing up in the 1930s.

R.I.P.

Oddly enough I just found out my grandma died 10 months ago 😕

No one thought to tell me or my direct family for some reason.

Sorry to hear about your grandmother.
