I'm friggin pissed... I don't know if there will be a curve at the end.... just one friggin percent away from a B

Please God.. let me make a B not a C+ .. I was so close. :(

since when is a B 75%??

In the least it should be 80%

In high school for me I think it was 84% for B and a 92% for an A.

that sucks, man
when i was a Jr in HS i took a "business" course. it was basically teaching people to type.
i ended up with an B (89) and needed an A (90) to keep my good grades discount on my insurance.
the teacher wouldnt budge an inch. which if i didnt 'earn' the A i didnt deserve it, in her book. but i felt i had earned an A.
i was so pissed off.

Try talking to your prof. and see if he'll give you the bump ... did you do all your hwks? did you have steady improvement from midterm to final?

i took a psych class once, A was 90%, but the professor said she'd round anything 89.0% and up to an A.
I had an 88.9%, and she would not give me the A. that really sucked.

Doesn't work so well in college classes where the average in some classes is between 50-60%.

In college we had a killer 2nd year physics exam that had a 32% average. The prof. was a nut.

Well, I know what that can feel like, here are my last 6 week's grades on the edge (I'm in HS btw):

English: 86.49 and 86.5 rounds to a B+ (87)
Hon. Chem.: 89.48 and .50 rounds to an A-

Neither of the teachers rounded it up... *sigh*

Welcome to the unfair life. I've been assed out of MANY grades missing 1% or less. The professors all say "Tough luck" or "I'm only following the syllabus and you all had it since the start of the quarter" or some variation of that. Unless you're a hot female, I have my doubts.

this is what I hate about rounding. if you set straight limits, such as
90 is an A-
then what if a kid gets 89.9?
then you set it so 89.5 and up rounds to 90
of course, then the kids with 89.4 come complaining
etc. etc.

where do you draw the line?

All the schools I've been to round to the closest whole number, so it would have been a B at my schools.
