Any woman, that claims they want nothing on Valentine's day is a *liar*

Doing nothing is one thing, but giving them nothing is like a pure test to how long you want to be without some loving. I gotta roll with the hits, so its a 2-parter night with me, gifts and entertainment.

Oh yeah? Well I don't even have a girlfriend, so beat that!

It would seem that you'll be the one doing the beating on Valentine's day.

At least my g/f has always known that I don't give good Vday presents. I mean 1st is Christmas, then her Bday 1/12 the Vday. Since I got her a DVD player for her Bday for Vday I am just getting her DVDs. (and of course some flowers)

Notfred! This is a trick!!! Don't fall for it!

You are supposed to get her at least a single rose, and then blush and be all embarassed and be like "aww well I had to get you SOMETHING..."

Major points if you do it, you're in the doghouse if you don't. hehehe

I laugh at all you guys who are out buying flowers and jewelry! :p

Ignore the guys that say you'll be in the doghouse - you know her, they don't. I'd bet that if she says it, she means it. I personally am anti-Valentines day because I don't like the idea of someone having to get me something to avoid being in trouble. Do/get things because you want to, not because Hallmark proclaims it spend-alot-of-money day. If you want to use V-day as an opportunity to do something nice, go ahead. But no one should have to so I don't expect my bf to, nor do I have a problem with him taking me up on that and not doing anything.

What's with this ... man, just get her something. Don't you want to get her something? If not, then don't. I want to get my gf something though, it's not just for her, it makes me happy too (since it makes me happy to see her happy... duh).

Be very careful, this is a trap... You had better make sure to have at least a card at the ready on Thursday, and a single rose could not hurt. If you don't, you will be sorry!!!

Valentine's Day is for wimps and commies. All the same, if you don't get her a present, someone else will...

Of course, if you get her a present and she took the vow in good faith, she could get mad that you don't take her seriously... :D

Definitely proceed with caution. It is a trap. It is the Jedi Mind trick.

What in the bloody loop of a freak show... I must be getting dumber day by day since that makes no sense to me. Person specifies desire A. Desire is heard AND understood. Desire fulfillment is necessary to maintain a state of pleasure. Therefore, should not desire A be fulfilled?

You must be able to read minds but all I can tell is that maybe, just maybe, you're trying too hard. Commemoration of specific dates for a set reason is useless if done for the sole virtue of celebration of the day with its associated meaning. If you want to create a healthy relationship, it takes listening and following through with heeding desires of the other. If you chave chosen some person who is compelled, for whatever reason, to mess with your mind by clever manipulation and false information transferred via communication channels, then perhaps you did not choose wisely.

All these people who claim to know the true intent behind this, can you please explain it to me? I could conceive of such a scenario but why in the world would one allow such degredation of trust and openness, epecially in a committed relationship? It must be me...

Cheers ! :)

Perfect example of reverse meaning from girls, they love 'testing' their guys with stuff like this.

Yeah, Right. Even me and my girl, who have no money at all are at least gonna do something (even though she says she dosen't want anything). I fell for this crap one year, she said not to get her anything, i didn't, and boy was she p!ssed that I didn't even get her a card.
I made up for it last year and built her a fat computer. :p
