My girlfriend bought me an Armani watch for xmas?

I have a Kenneth Cole watch I wear right now that an ex gave me 2 years ago. This year for xmas, my current gf said she got me an Armani watch. How much are these watches typically, and is this an upgrade or downgrade for me? Anyone have one?

there's only three types of watch people on AT

Timex Crowd - spending money on a watch is almost pointless. It's nothing more than a fashion statement, besides everyone has cell phones these days
Seiko Crowd - you can lump the citizen and all the other mid range people in here too. the $100+ crowd pretty much
Rolex Crowd - consider a rolex an investment. laugh at the timex people who they don't believe know the true value of owning an expensive watch.

i didn't even know armani made watches. Sounds like an eddie bauer sort of gimmick. Try looking up reviews?

what about the fossil guys. I'll bet there are more fossils here than timex'es

I bought her a $750 Movado for xmas.

I also have a G Shock I bought a couple months ago. I never wear it though. I think it looks cool, but it's to large to wear it comfortably.

psh... i dunno heh. iirc, fossil has some watches that break the century mark, but aren't most of them pretty cheap?

So you are checking to make sure she dropped the same coin on you as you dropped on her?

Classy.

Is this the same deal that the girls parents jumped your case ABOUT the $750 watch you bought her?

EDIT

Yes, yes it is.

I have a Rolex. (A $3000 cheapie) and I have to listen to my old geezer buddies whine about how their $1.00 watch keeps just as good time as my Rolex. They sound like a broken record. Money is to spend not to save for the grandchildren.

dude armani is a jewelry watch, armani just got some watches and put their name on it.

at least movado is a real watch company. you paid a ton more for the movado than she did for the armani. and if she paid more, she got ripped off.

EDIT: actually any way you put it, both of you wasted money on each other. you're made for each other.

tell him your rolex is worth the same amount now and that his Timex wouldn't fetch $3 on ebay

Armani aren't known for watches, so its not all that of a watch. But sure is better than some guess watch that everyone got. I got a Tag professional 2000, now thats a watch. And a special edition Credor by Seiko retail price $2200.

No, I would actually be mad at her for spending that much on me. But I am excited about a new watch and I wanted to know peoples thoughts on this particular brand.
