In Connecticut, any motor vehicle over 50 CC requires insurance and registration.
(Hence Mopeds are exempt from such requirements)
I assume you are from Oregon, are the Motor Vehicle laws different there ?
They're probably different, but not that much different...
They're only legal in a handful of states..
Here in Oregon, the legal limit is 35cc .. But the cops don't know anything..

They're pretty much classified as a bicycle. You have to follow the same rules as a bike, and stay in the bike lanes..
My scooter is uses a 50cc.. 4 stroke engine.

Honda, baby!

Most "goped" type scooters use 2 stroke engines.
My girlfriends mom's boyfriend put a 135cc PowerBee engine on his scooter.. It's insane.. He can do over 80.
But like I said.. the cops are clueless... as long as you're wearing safety gear, and following the road rules.. they leave you alone.
The 55cc is a kit for the 43cc Mitsubishi engine.. new cylinder, piston, rings..
We weren't racing.. but I would win, my scooter has a much higher top speed than hers..

She'd win in a short dash tho, since the reason for the high top speed is the high gearing(or would it be low gearing? whatever..)
