Integras are the most stolen acura....Sorry to say, but you'd be lucky to have it returned in one piece. Most likely the sh!theads will strip everything on the car. Was this integra fitted with any aftermarket parts? And did it have an alarm (like alarms do anything but create noise)?

iirc they're actually the #1 stolen car in America

Had a feeling this would be in Davis.

Most likely your car is in a hack shop in Citrus Heights, prob get a call in a couple days from Sac police saying they've found your stripped car (remember Compuwiz?).

Stuff like this happens a lot during the summer.

Is that list compiled by volume or percentage?

Congrats, you just made yourself the prime suspect if your friend's Integra does get stolen. :p ;)

What's with some people acting like an ass when something unfortunate happens to one of the members?

What with some members being so uptight?

You should be able to find humor in just about any situation.

Edit: Sorry about that whole car thing. :)

Prob asked, but dos she have insurance that will cover the full lose? And also if so try and keep what left of the car. You can get $500 and up just for thr motor if it is still running.

Call me stupid, but what's the value of the stripped parts from that car? I mean, if it's stock, what good is the stereo, wheels, etc, when any other Integra owner already has those?

Laf. Plenty of Davis ATers have seen me or traded with me, I'm as far from a suspect as you can get.

Insurance should cover the car, just report it. Have you taken it to a shop yet to get estimate on repair etc? And out of curiosity how did they get in the car? 2 fastest ways into Integras are wire over the window (you'll see cracks in the window weather stripping if they went that way) and knifing the door to hook the locking mechanism (half circle cut).

My old Accord got broken into with wire. My friend's Acura got stolen with knife.

Actually it's very common to find stripped cars. Reason being theives will grab all unidentifiable parts off the thing (windows, airbag, chairs, rims, stereo, etc), but they don't want anything with VIN numbers (like frame, engine, etc) to be traced back to them so they'll find a place to dump it after they're done taking what they want.

UPDATE: Well they found the car last night in Sacramento. The police found the car still running. The entire car was stripped except the engine. Chairs, wheels, stereo, etc etc. were all taken :| Talk about the worst of luck. I hope to GOD the police find the thief and leave me in the room with him for a few minutes...

well i hope the body is still ok,
you can get seat,tires at a wrecking yard;
and i would suggest a hidden stereo

good news/bad news, Sad....

Let's see . . .

He never specified if stereo was stock or aftermarket. Stock isn't worth much, maybe $30.

Stock wheels and rims are maybe $400.

Chairs are $300 each? Just a guess.

Door panels probably $100 each. Center console maybe $50.

Windows are expensive (look up a windshield). They probably scored at least $1000 off the glass.

Airbags can be melted down for gold, can get maybe $200 out of it.

Prices go up depending on trim level. If it's leather then door panels and chairs double in price. And if it's aftermarket stereo and rims, well you can figure that out.

Car wouldn't get stolen if it wasn't worth the time to steal, probably $2000 in black market profit and around $5000 for insurance to replace (again those go up depending on trim level and if anything was aftermarket).

Guess car is worth about $7K used, if $5K to replace parts will probably consider it totaled. Ship to junkyard, theives will sell parts to shop/junkyard, shop/junkyard will rebuild car and sell. Repeat.

Integra parts are almost easily interchangeable with Civic parts. You see Integra parts on Civics all the time (the Integra is based off the Civic anyway)
