Nah. Time is just not right yet. We are both still studying, she lives about 800 kilometers from me most of the time. That might change later this year.

Afraid of long-term commitment? Everything I know about her says "no".

Nemesis77, if you can marry your best friend you're a very fortunate guy. If your best friend says what she says, and she's not currently playing with lots of others, then you've got a real nice situation on your hands.

Playing with lots of others? As in other guys? Good heavens no :)! I'm the only guy she "plays around" with ;)

Should I ask the question?
The answer to this I seek.
But before I ask the question
I must begin to move my feet
In the direction of the jewelery store
Up the escalator, up a floor
Seeking the one infernal thing
The infernal engagement ring!

Good luck, Nemesis77. :)

how big is considered a big @ss ring? 2 or 3 carats? how much should a guy spend? 2 or 3 times a month's salary? 15, 20 grand?

Grasshopper? Is that you? ;)

Damn you lucky guys and your no-nonsense women, knowing what you both want and everything. ^_^

Congrats on that...any idea how long "just yet" will be?

I would guess about.... 6-8 months maybe. Right now she spends most of her time about 800 kilometers from me (because of her studies). This spring she should move alot closer to me, and I should have finished my studies. Then would be the right time to "make my move"

As to the ring.... We were watching "The Sixth Sense". In the scene where the couple is looking at that old (and expensive) wedding ring, she said to me "I wouldn't want a big ring like that. You know, a ring that's huge and dominates your hand. I want a small ring that doesn't draw lots of attention to itself". Phew! That's a relief :D!
