OP, I can understand how love or lust or whatever combination of the two is clouding your judgement about a good relationship.
My wife and I became best friends, and were attentive to each other's needs and issues, sensitive to things like money and workload. We practically stumble over each other to help the other out.
My wife would read your original post and tell you to run away, far away. The girl you are dating is not ready to be that way for someone yet, she is 'me me me' all the way.

And for the record, wtf kinda driver pays 300 bucks a month on car insurance. I pay 1k a year and already think its too much on a car I bought new off the lot.

I have no speeding tickets or anything of that sort, clean driver since 16. If you read some of my posts or had any clue on insurance prices in Toronto, Ontario you would know that 300 bucks for my car is actually a really good price at my age/driving longevity. If I did have speeding records etc I would be paying 500-600 bucks a month like some of my buddies. Anywayssssss my dad who has an AZ license, signing authority, and a clean record pays 40 bucks a month for his car. Now that's a good rate.

And I don't care about sex or getting something out of it, I am not like that, if I wanted that I would go clubbing and grind random bitches all night long in hopes of scoring one here and there. I don't know why so many people in this thread are mentioning that. Also for the money I spend on her I could get an rub and tug every 1.5 weeks or so and have a different chick for variety. Unlike most most horny people here, sex is not my priority.
 
For us over in Alberta, its better after the provincial government stepped in and legislated lower rates

21 years old + 21k GTI + Liability and collision + 1 speeding ticket = 1800 a year.

Ya that's pretty good, those provinces are l33t only have 7 % tax also. My car is 3 way full coverage though, since it's on a bank loan it has to be, I guess it gives me some peace of mind also.

JS80: It is a used car. An average beater type car would still cost me 160 $ a month and up. A brand new luxury car would cost me 700 ish.

I think the reason I will forever be single is that I refuse to abide by the concept of the guy always having to pay for the "lady." I absolutely hate being called cheap when (it's only fair) I ask to pay for only what I eat or use. If a woman can't simply like me for me then whatever, go find someone else. Plain and simple. I'm happily single and before flaming me understand that again, I know I'll probably stay that way for a long time to come. I don't feel the need to be obligated to spend money to ridiculously unproportionate amounts (dinner all the time, transportation, gifts and such) just to get attention. It's just unnecessary to me.

Anyway, she should definitely chip in on the gas or make her actually get her own rides for a change. Or if you truly are her main source of transportation, perhaps take a break and let her realize how important you are to her.

CDN$150/mo, 2005 Honda Civic. Full coverage, $300/$500 deductibles on comp/collision, $1m liability coverage, loss of use, rental car, depreciation waiver, benefits out the wazoo. More coverage than I'll ever need.

Ok, if I do my math right, you were dating a girl who was a junior or senior in high school when you were in about your third year of university? Alright, that's just fvcked up. I guess you shouldn't expect maturity from an 18 year old girl if you're not mature enough to make a rational decision about whether you can afford a car like that. Honestly, didn't you even compare what different models of car would do to your insurance rate before you bought that one? If her father's opinion of your vehicle was worth several hundred dollars a month, why are you complaining about how much gas costs you?

And finally: how does your girlfriend feel about your lack of sex drive?

You're right to a point but there is also some give and take involved. If I'm working and she is still looking for a part time job (assuming she is a student as well), then maybe I'll be the one to take her out. If she gets a job and I'm not getting many hours or lose my job, I'd hope she would maybe pay more when we are doing stuff together. This is instead of us sitting at her place or my place because one of us can't afford the cost of a movie or something.

However you have to be careful because I had this situation with my ex and she never could get a job because she couldn't pass a piss test. Any money she got from her Dad for food went towards weed and same for when she finally did find work. I made the same mistake of not "training her," and at that point bitching at her about putting in her fair share was pointless. In her defense she did clean my apartment spotless, drive me around when I couldn't afford insurance for my car, and let me use her cell phone all the time (including taking messages for me). So there is a lot more involved than dollars and cents and a relationship will never work if you're always having to be even about everything.
