*Me casually playing a game on PC*
GF: So my coworker told me she might break up with her BF if he fails this Vday.
Me: Yea? That's bit overboard based on a fake day.
GF: That's what I said. Then she asked what we were doing. I said nothing, he'll just make dinner at home. I don't even care too much if nothing happened.
GF: Oh, do you want anything for Valentine's?
Me: (crying inside)

My wife tells me not to get her anything for v-day. She tells me this every year but I get her something anyway.

This year it is a bottle of dolce & gabbana perfume.

What would make you a keeper is if you blew her mind and did something awesome anyways.

Same rules apply at my house. V-day is just another day of the week.

All chicks say this. But when they go out the next day and find out that they are among the few that did nothing special, you are on the losing end.

And, even if you make it through this vday, you won't want to keep her because she will never STFU about the Vday you didn't get her something.

Romance movies tell me that they never mean it when they say they don't want anything for valentines day.

LOL at responses. Yeah, she's not a 'trap' type of girl. What she says, she means it.

What would make you a keeper is if you blew her mind and did something awesome anyways.

Very well said, young grasshopper.

My wife learned fast that I don't put up with that coy crap. If she says she doesn't want something, then she gets nothing. It's kinda nice saying, "What do you want?" and she has a list.

I don't imagine it's a trap. Some women out there really don't play the game and really do mean what they say.

Having said that, I would still have something prepared. Especially if this is your first Anna Howard Shaw Day together.

lol...all these morons who have no idea.

My wife is the same way. I bought her flowers once very early on for her birthday, mainly because we had just started dating and there was no reason to get her anything super expensive or that meant too much. She told me that I never need to get her flowers ever again because it was a waste of money and she meant it. I don't even remember what we did last valentines day. We didn't really even do anything for her birthday and I doubt we will do much for mine. Basically we do Christmas for any serious gifts and that's it.
