My gaydar went off the other day, is it too sensitive or accurate?

A guy walks up to me and strikes up a conversation. One of the first things he asks is what cologne I'm wearing. He was very animated, friendly and trying to be funny. Although he did not talk with a lisp...the whole what cologne are you wearing, made me think of the many times I've asked a girl what perfume or lotion she was wearing....with the intent of befriending them to get in their pants.

Applied the cologne in the morning, this was like 14 hours later and it's not even the good stuff

he was either gay or a metrosexual (i.e gay but still in the closet...)

I'd never ask a random stranger that, but I'd ask my friends that. Well, I take that back. If the cologne was really fvcking bad ass I might. But I totally wouldn't get his number. At least not on the first date. :lips:

Yes, because all homosexuals talk with a lisp.

The show Playing It Straight (I catch it on BT) is a good indication that you cannot tell a gay man from a straight man by the stereotypical gestures and speech patterns.

You can only tell if you get to know the person to see how they act in certain situations.

yeah dude, straight guys don't need gaydar. because whether or not he was hitting on you, you're still not going to get with him.

and by you, i mean everyone except for you.

doubtful, can't a guy be friendly without people making ridiculous claims about them without even knowing them?

Back in my single days I would at least check the ring finger before making a move

Like....You fill those jeans out nicely, big boy

that's why I started a poll. I'm not comfortable enough to ask a stranger what cologne he is wearing, plus like I could really care.

what were you wearing? when i used to work at banana republic i got asked quiet a few times if i was gay...mostly by women, man it sucked cause it was so hard to hit on them. apparently, it's stereotyped that guys who work at BR or Gap are gay.

Just because you're too scared of what people think of you when you ask someone a simple question doesn't mean everyone else is.

Just because you aren't afraid to ask the question, doesn't make you not a nancy boy for asking...
