My GA-K8NF9 keeps providing power to keyboard and mouse after shutdown

After I shutdown my comptuer, my keyboard lights stay on ( caps lock and num lock ), and my mouse's red optical light is still lit.
I guess my gigabyte K8NF-9 mobo keeps supplying power to these devices after shutdown.
but it's pretty annoying, is there a way to disable it ?

Check your power options in the bios.

If you have your system setup for wake-up events (ie. keyboard/mouse) the system will continue to provide power to the specific peripherals. I have a Gigabyte GA-K8NS Ultra-939, and my system provides power to my mouse and keyboard so that I can wake up the system when it is "off". Why? I'm to lazy to open the door on the case to push the power button.

If you want it to go away just configure your bios accordingly.

It's the CMOS battery. Just turn off the PSU jumper on the back a few times. I had this same problem, with the same mobo, but it was persisting for months on end.

You can't be serious !
You mean, there's no way to do this ?
I need to turn off my PSU after I turn off my computer to do this ?

isn't there a setting in the BIOS I can change ( I've looked and I haven't found one, but maybe you people know ) ...

It is not a problem, but a particularity with all motherboard I came across in the past 5 years. You can set the BIOS to have the computer to start with either a keystroke or with mouse. Because of newer power management system, to be fully compliant, motherboard have to do that. To resume from standby when the mouse is moved, for example, power should always been supplied to the mouse, or keyboard.
