Well my MX1000 mouse decided not to work 3 months ago and now next in line looks like its my G15. I have to constantly reconnect the device untill the lcd and keylights lightup up indicating it is on. Today however i realized that when its on and i sort of move around the cable it turns off, so i believe that their something wrong with the wire. Luckily we are talking about a KB not a wired mouse so i have to wait untill the KB is on then try not to move my KB tray or touch the wire and it works as I type this post.

I had this same problem with various headphones where the right earbud does not work, and playing with the wire a little bit can make it work again but I have to hold it still which is ridiculously difficult.

Id like to know if this can be repaired or something i bought this through ebay about 3 years ago and i cant believe such a premium product suffers from something like this. I despise all newer G lines from logitech because they did away with the 2X3 programmable key layout and reduced the amount of them as well. The main reason why i covet this KB is because of this layout and the LCD so that excludes my interest of the G11 too.

I would appreciate any suggestions thanks.

Only way to know for sure is open it up and see how the keyboard wire connects. It may be on a plug or it may be soldered to the board. Then you need to know how many wires (4 if it connects thru USB) and locate a suitable replacement cable. Perhaps directly from Logitech. They may sell the cable.

Have you tried these items on another system? Try them on a friends PC and see if they work. If so then you have a problem with your systems USB. Which could be ruited in a currupted CMOS. So you can try clearing the CMOS and see if that helps.

Just turn the system off and unplug the PSU from the wall. Then remove the CMOS battery for about a minute and that will clear the CMOS for you. Just be sure to reset your date and time in the BIOS when your done.
