My g/f has been in the hospital since yesterday

I was thinking I would stop by the mall and pick up a buildabear, maybe some flowers, and some things to read.

She had to get her appendix taken out and she won't be discharged until tomorrow.

Anybody have any creative gift ideas to bring over besides the norm?

Spend an hour hand writing her a note talking about how much fun you've had in your relationship. Then a few flowers maybe. That's about it. It'll mean a lot more than buying crap.

Build-a-Bear is a great idea. If she isn't on a special diet while in the hospital and if she has an appetite after surgery, some good food might be nice. Patient food tends to be not so appetizing.

Better yet, put EVERYTHING aside until she gets out and keep her occupied yourself by being there for her.

Yeah, I decided to stay away from food because I'm not sure what she's going to be able to eat. Thanks for the advice though, I know she's starving.

Just spend time there with her, thats all she'll want.

Well thats a given. I had to come into work today since we're about to complete a new release of our software, but I ended up going to bed at 3:00 this morning and was up by 6:00. Making for a fun day!!

This sounds good - effort trumps gifts in my book! Or bring a board game or something, but give her your time and attention.....

No kidding, how long did the pain last? Her birthday is on Saturday (which I expected our plans would be cancelled), but I was at least hoping she might be mobile by then.

I was out for 2-3 weeks. but my sugery was a little worse then most. they had to cut some of the adomnial muscle. i have a neat 5 inch scar in the shape of a happy face.

but she should be fine a week after. just the first 2-3 days of staying home is going to be hard.

so its a good time to baby her. she will love you for it. score a bunch of brownie points!
