books, crosswords, trivia game

But once you have a couple things to keep her from being totally bored, I'll say the same thing Pablo said, a nice heartfelt handwritten note/poem/letter/whatever would probably mean more to her than most anything you could buy.

I was thinking I would stop by the mall and pick up a buildabear, maybe some flowers, and some things to read.

She had to get her appendix taken out and she won't be discharged until tomorrow.

Anybody have any creative gift ideas to bring over besides the norm?

ohh she will love the bear and flowers.

i can't think of anything i am the worst person to chose a gift. wich is why i never do the secret santa hehe.

just be nice (really really nice). having that done is such a pain! it was hard to clean, take a shower etc. heck putting on my sucks was a major pain.

No kidding, how long did the pain last? Her birthday is on Saturday (which I expected our plans would be cancelled), but I was at least hoping she might be mobile by then.

I was out for 2-3 weeks. but my sugery was a little worse then most. they had to cut some of the adomnial muscle. i have a neat 5 inch scar in the shape of a happy face.

but she should be fine a week after. just the first 2-3 days of staying home is going to be hard.

so its a good time to baby her. she will love you for it. score a bunch of brownie points!

Good call, thanks for the info Waggy. Greatly appreciated!!

Yeah, I decided to stay away from food because I'm not sure what she's going to be able to eat. Thanks for the advice though, I know she's starving.

I would call and ask her what she can eat. Go to a restaurant she likes and get some takeout. Something for when you get there, and another meal that she can have a bit later.

If she recently had an appendectomy she probably won't be able to eat them. I know I wasn't after mine. Sudoku books are great for killing time. Better yet stay there and work on the puzzles with her.

If she's already had the appendix tadken out then she should be able to eat anything. Hospital food sucks, dude, take her some boston market!

i seem to recall hyaving to wait until the medication wears off (guess that would depend on what they did).

i seem not being able to eat anything solid until they were sure there was no problems.
