My Fry's Story

NutBucket

Lifer
Went to Fry's today in Manhattan Beach about 9:30am because I had to pick up some Artic Silver Epoxy for work. My coworker then says he needs some blank cd's so we wander over there. I see one spindle of Japanese Fuji's on the shelf but they have oil or something on them. A fellow shopper spots a stack of them on the top shelf. Not wanting to bother finding an employee we snag a step stool that's across the isle and I proceed to take some spindles off the top shelf. One employee sees us and doesn't really say anything. Then we spot another one come over and mumble something. Then the third one comes over and tells me to get off the stool. So yes, 3 employees to tell someone to get off a stool.

Cliff's notes:
1. CD's on top shelf
2. Use step stool to get them
3. 3 employees required to tell me to get off the stool.

Enjoy!

I have been to that store and most of the employees I see are high school looking kids. So everytime I got there, I don't really expect much from them.

How are the imcompetent? They don't want to be liable for the lawsuit that will happen when you fall off the stool.

How hard is it for the first one to say something?!?!

LOL! Considering how bit the stool was it'd be quite a feat if I did!

EDIT: It looks something like this except with railings all the way around.

Not too bad. Best Buy told me the other day that my keyboard would work faster with a USB2.0 hub rather than a 1.1 hub.

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!

You should've asked him for a firewire keyboard!!

I think my thoughts on Fry's Electronics are well documented on these forums. At least, that's what Fry's lawyers tell me... 🙁

just learn to always expect gross incompetence, misinformation, and outright lies from every person in the store and suddenly it doesn't seem so bad anymore.

I love Fry's.

I learned to expect nothing more than incompetence and ignorance from retail chain computer stores ever since I worked for one over 10 years ago. 🙂

Well the story was that I needed a USB hub. I only needed 1.1 for my mouse, keyboard, and printer. As I grabbed a Belkin 1.1 for $15 (overpriced) a blue shirt walked up to me and said "NO. You need one of these" from here the story goes downhill as he tells me that my Keyboard and Mouse will "work faster" along with my printer. I listened to his BS for about 5min then told him I am a CS major and that he is full of shit. Put the hub on the floor and walked out.

How long were you standing on the stool? An hour? I usually can't get help in that place unless I'm in the appliance section and you had three employees come by in the media section?
