Glen, Divinemartyr, Paldo and a few others would know these :)

They're for my friends 95 Sunfire running off a Momentum MA900 amp.
He bought the subs from Solen, in Quebec, but you can also get them from Madisound, from Wisconsin

Anyhoo, they're more of an SPL kinda sub than SQ, stiff suspension, tiny box sizes (1.5cf for a Q of 0.675...for a PAIR), but we're gonna build him a 2cf vented box tuned to 35-40hz. Should be pretty damm loud in his car :D

Front of drivers, dual gold terminals, 16 t-nuts
Dustcap Closeup
Back of the drivers shot
Magnet Label
(BTW: These are really a 2ohm sub for all intents and purposes, if you do buy these, dont think that they'll work as 4ohms unless you get a big sealed box (1.5cf each), that will raise impedance sufficiently. His amp is capable of 2 ohms stereo, which is how we plan to wire it)
Closeup of the 8g wire terminals
The exposed-to-open-air-for-better-cooling-voice-coil
Fuzzy pic of the dustcap playing a 20hz tone

Cost $510 CAD after taxes, shipping, for everything. And I got a deal because I know a distributor for solen, otherwise they would have been $50 more each :D :D :D

Pics of the box/amp/setup coming at the end of the week :)

Peerless is great.
I had peerless 7" in my Honda in the kick panels.
The reason?
I called Madisound and ask them to tell me which 7" had the greatest x-max.
Peerless.
I would definately not hesitate to use them again in a car.

I agree :)
Those home version XLS's are SICK!

You shoulda seen these things; I hooked the pair in series to my plate amp from my 15inch DVC sub (in sig), and I started playing some bass tones.
The glasses/cups in the wall cabinets just started tingling nicely as the floor shook underneath my heavy feet :D

Hey did you read about those TC-sounds 6.5inchers supposedly having 12mm Xmax's?? That's insanity if they truly have that much.
But the
Tang Band w8-750 8incher with its 12mm Xmax would own them!

We're planning on a 3inch wide x 13.5inch tall slot port for these beauties, should be more than enough to prevent port noise. Man I so wanna build the box and hear these things :D

Not bad, but doesn't come close to my BOSE Wave Radio hooked up to a DC converter. The Acoustic waveguide speaker technology delivers full, natural sound from a small enclosure, and the Integrated signal processing automatically ensures proper tonal balance.

Ok, I'll give you a chance. How about we have an SPL competition at 30hz instead of 70hz :Q
LOL! :p
