My friend's friend killed his dad...

ok, so they weren't really good friends, but she had hung out with him a couple times. From what i've been told by my friend, the guy's dad found out he was dealing drugs...and they got into an argument and the son shot the dad with a shotgun. one of my good friends hung out with him the other day...she's pretty freaked out--understandably so. She found out when the son's mom/stepmom (?) called her and his friends to tell them to steer clear from that guy.

That's just so unbelievable to me...

Edit: From what she told me, the dad was really cool too. =/

Oh is that what happened? I live in Ft. Worth and been hearing about this on the news off and on all day, only thing I found odd about it is that the police were pretty hush-hush aobut it.

I hope your friend is doing allright, however if your friend's friend was dealing drugs, did your friend get involved with that at all?

no, she's pretty straight laced. She was there with her boyfriend and a bunch of other people and they were all just hanging around drinking and whatnot. I remember her telling me that he didn't like her being there...because he said he didn't completely "trust her." I think that's partly why she's so rattled about this... =/

A guy two blocks from me is in jail. He's my age. A couple years ago he was sitting at the table with his family for thanksgiving. His dad was very abusive to him and he'd just had enough of it I guess. His father started belittling him again and he stabbed his father in the neck with a steak knife from his place setting and killed him, right at the dinner table.

that's twisted.

one of my ex's killed someone in central park in the late 90's (a few years after we broke up). it's always kinda freaked me out.

it's just weird to think of someone you know as a murderer.

He's spent a couple years in jail for killing an abusive father? :|

Edit: The :| is because I think the guy shouldn't be in jail. Maybe a couple months then probation. Abusive parents are the worst possible thing that can happen to someone.

yeah, but he could have gone to the police.

that sux dude... i am just glad my parents arent like that :disgust:

Today my friend told me some more news. I heard the guy even had a "list"...his dad was the first person on that list. One of his "friends" was second on that list...and a police officer was third on that list. so twisted...

My friend told me about how he always talked about smashing a guitar on the head of the second person...Everyone thought he was kidding until they learned that he kept a guitar in his car for occasion of running into person #2...

What's worse is that before his dad found out about the drug dealing, he had lied to his dad and told him he got a job at a construction site (which is why he had so much money)... to which the dad bought him work boots and gloves to wish his son luck. =/

that makes me sick to the core...

No, sometimes it is self defense.

Self defense is not murder, IMO. The father never laid a finger on the kid from what the kid used to tell me. Someone talking sh|t to you isn't reasonable enough to warrant stabbing them in the neck. Constant verbal/emotional abuse to a teenager doesn't warrant the teenager killing anyone.

Abuse is still abuse, Emotional abuse is worse than Physical abuse. Wounds heal, scares fade, but the emontional trama can last for the rest of your life. this didn't warrant a Swift stabbing to the neck, Yes that is a bit extreme, however it doens't justify the fact that the father was still abusive. it is not acceptable on any level reguardless of the parent/child/spouse/partner relationship.

Off that Train of thought....

A swift kick to the balls would have been a nicer alternative. Then call the police. 🙂
