I have no words for him... he is the tech guy in a community college during the day, and manager of an greek restaurant at night...

Monday - Friday, he works as the tech guy from 8 AM to 4 PM, manages the restaurant from 6 PM to 11 PM ... thats 65 hours during weekdays.
Saturday and Sunday, he is back at the restaurant for 10 hours each day...

I told him he is crazy, but he doesn't believe me :p Seriously though, considering you were single, would you work so much?

He says he likes both of the jobs (well, he says he likes the greek place because of all the women coming in)... so what do you say?

Edit: I forgot to mention, he is 22 years old and he is taking night classes + online classes as well. He says he can keep working like this until he gets married... I don't know how the hell he is going to find someone to marry him like that :p

I've known people to work 3 jobs, and an average of about 18 hours per day-- he didn't do to bad, he turned out to be a millionare.

No way I could do that. I need time to myself to relax sometimes. It will catch up to him eventually.

A friend of mine does that get 1.5 after 8 and double time on sundays. I could never do it, but he has the cash and I don't :p

I used to pull hours like that all the time. I worked one job starting at 4:30 in the morning until noon and a second job at night from 4 until 9. This is only 60 hours, but that was just my regular schedule. I frequently worked doubleshifts on weekends, and once worked over 90 hours. It happens.

He's working so much that he doesn't have time to spend it or enjoy it though.

i was working ~80 hours/week at Staples for about a month...until the store manager "conveniently" deleted our timeclock software and lost my punches. I wasn't the only one who got screwed. The worst part of the deal is that i was stupid enough to follow him to Kmart for a few dollars an hour more, but he left shortly after i was hired in.

I worked 70 - 80 hours a week for a few months once. Time goes by way too fast. The upside was that I had no time to spend much of the cash.

Med school... it sucks now but it will be worth it in the long run. That 80 hr work week law is just for residents and above :(

Ask him if he's crazy in 20 years when he's retired and you are still working your 40 hours a week. ;)

I'm not committed enough to work that much, but if he is .. more power to him. If he's got no reason not to work that much, than I'd say he's doing the smart thing.

It's not too terrible if you can sit down most of the time, but I've worked 16 hour days where I was standing/walking the whole time, and it's hard on the feet and legs. I definitely wouldn't do it on a long-term basis, you gotta take some time to enjoy your life.

I think it's pretty smart. Work hard, make lots of money and enjoy it when you don't want to work anymore.

Only about 8% of marriages survive residency, I assisted a big longitudinal study on it at CU.

But that's the good part right? You don't spend money so you can SAVE it!!!

I?d believe it. Med school is stressful as hell already. We don?t have any questions if we can make it or not though. We are both dedicated to each other and I am very supportive of her schedule. We been through a lot in the 10 years we have been together, and it gets better everyday imo.
