Geeze, and people got on my case for not washing after going to the bathroom :Q I still bet you I don't have it 😀

We can change that...yes, yes we can...

In all seriousness, you probably do have it, you just don't have any outbreaks. It's not really that bad a thing to have.

80% is too high a percentage. That would mean 8 out of 10 would have it and out of all the people that I know, none of them have herpes.

Ever gotten a fever blister? Most people have a few throughout their lives.
I see what you mean but I've never gotten them before. Aren't there occasional outbreaks on those w/this type of herpes?

Again - Upwards of 90% of the population has it, and only 40% of those will ever break out with a cold sore.

No I don't, doggone it.

This kind of thing is like telling people they have E. Coli. in their colon - they usually freak out because society has trained them to react negatively towards any perceived deadly bacteria, the same with herpes. Most people don't even know that genital and oral herpes are different, so when someone finds out they have oral herpes they tend to associate it with a sexual disease.

Ignorance is bliss, I guess.

Then give me a few days to get some infected blood in a syringe and I'll come down and help you out. Let's price it at...oh, say $40 + travel expenses. I wouldn't do this for just anyone, don't let this offer pass by.

Bear in mind, oral herpes can be transferred to genital herpes. 80%+ of the population have cold sores, and if they have an outbreak and go down on their significant other, their significant other may develop genital herpes.

By the way, cold sores aren't the same as canker sores.

And you sound like an ignorant ass who's sitting high up on his pedestal waiting to fall.

And you sound like somebody who doesn't recognize sarcasm when it hits them on the head.

i have it and i'm proud.

and to the OP, i don't think it's even considered an STD... you can get it through kissing (I think?) I know i got cold sores before I was active.

I didn't tell my fiance (then girlfriend) that I get cold sores until she asked me why I wouldn't share my drink with her one night (thought I felt one coming on earlier that day).

Now that I'm back in school, I don't call them cold sores...I refer to them as Finals Blisters. 😉

You must have them the same way I do. You never get a breakout unless you have extra stress.

I get zits when I'm stressed, not a whopping great blood-saucer on my face :Q

I can see the envy in your post. 😎

I gave herpes to three of my friends when I was 17. I took Valtrex for a month ($2.50 a pill) and all was well.

BTW...Just to clear things up, I had shingles and the three people I knew got chicken pox.
