my friend says you're all extremely intelligent.

now i'm not saying that you have to be to fix this problem. but i'm apparently not intelligent enough to get this to work. so help if you would be so kind.

i have a creative zen vision: m.

i have the movie Babel and/or Pan's Labyrinth.

they're in .avi format with .srt subtitles.

the zen doesn't read the .srt files, so unless i happen to have brushed up on my Japanese and Afghani lately, i'm outta luck.

how can i create hard subtitles, merge the two files together.

please help, and thank you very much. and i'm happy to be a part of this forum finally. i've been a spectator for a while.

"intelligent" may not be quite the word your friend was thinking of...

You may have more luck in one of the other forums, perhaps software or mobile media.

The plane does not take off. .999 != 1

Feel free NOT to link that thread 😉

well to the OP's original problem, I do not think there is ANY media player out there that can read soft subtitle files such as .srt. You may have to find some way to hardsub them as part of the .avi file. Probably look into googling converting softsubs to hardsubs

Shouldn't the japanese/moroccan parts be hard subbed already since it's part of the movie itself?

yeah. that stupid .999 we still argue about that.

- josh.

The problem that we argue over is the philosophical problem, not the mathematical. Anyone who knows about math knows that 0.99999... = 1. Philosophically speaking, though, "How can you write two different things and have it be the same blah blah blah."

Why don't you just steal a player that CAN play the files? You've already demonstrated that morals aren't important to you.
