A long-time friend got divorced last year (his ex filed) and has been trying to meet women. So he gets a MySpace profile and asked me for help in setting it up, how to upload photos, so on and so forth. He isn't exactly internet or computer savvy.
He was asking so many questions that he just gave me his login and password so that I could log into his account and see first hand what he was talking about.
He was confused about why some people's profiles were active one day then 'this account no longer exists'. Turns out he has like 40+ friends, all 'female' (except me), and all but three of them are spammers there to drum-up referrals or commissions.
You know the ones, 'hi I'm new to MySpace and don't come here much. To see more photos of me, go to this website and sign up for an account.'
Patently obvious, always a profile image of a scantilly clad woman in some sexy/suggestive pose, which likely isn't even an actual photo of the person who created the account. More likely, its some scammer from Nigeria or something. Three of his 'friends' are the same spammer who sends him the exact same message from three different profiles.
And he is trying to contact them! I went to his 'sent' messages folder and he is sending them messages "hi, I think you are beautiful, write me back and we'll talk some more.'
Totally clueless.
LOL! This thread, and many others deserve locks. Now this thread is one of the lamest I have ever seen. On that merit alone, it gets the locket.
