Actually I am amazed to learn that apparently quite a few % of Americans are not the Religious Zealots (forgive the word dunno a better one to describe this way of faith) that I was used to, when I was in HighSchool in KY 10 years ago. Actually there I was seen as the unfortunate idiot that needs to be "safed". Quote from one of the best students in this school: " Are u really this ignorant to think that I (we) am a descendant of monkeys?"
I mean I have no problem with religion at all. Everyone shall have their own belief but I was totally surprised to learn that there are ppl that belief that the earth was created by God the way it says in Genesis and is 6000 years old. People that didnt think the bible is a (the) history book where by far the minority. But it was really funny to see how flexible the bible became to my questions in sunday school (Ala: how did the human poulation form from one guy and one girl without incest)
Man I even got a book as present that was to prove how evolution is BS and creation 6000 years ago the truth - good stuff
Nowadays I know that some people still have very middle aged views about the bible. And dont try to tell the about scientific facts that earth is just a little older than they think. I just shut up and laugh inside...
But really, this kind of religious belief I have never witnessed anywhere else - is that a Kentucky (southern) thing or is (was) this the norm?
