He worked as a teacher for a private highschool and as the youth pastor at our church. He was in Honduras with his students. they were playing on the beach when there was a sudden storm and a HUGE wave took a group of students out to sea. he went in after them and saved 6 of them. he, however, died.

He was 23 years old, single and he loved basketball.
I'll miss him very much.

So young, but if you have to go out, it's hard to imagine a more honorable way to go. He has my respect.

I wish you luck in dealing w/the loss of your friend. He obviously was a very brave and selfless man. Risked his life and saved SIX children. He went straight to heaven and is happy and laughing at all us poor slobs still stuck down here. :) He was a good man.

Thx for the condolences.

he was very special.

a few more clarifications/ facts. they were in the water and a RIPTIDE pulled them out to sea.

he managed to save 6 kids. he was the only one that died.

It just breaks my heart to hear something like that happen. So selfless of him to do such an heroic act. I believe he's in a peaceful place right now.

he was very dedicated to his students. i hope the students that he saved realizes the level of sacrifice that he made for them and really do something with their lives.

It hurts to lose someone, but be proud of him for what he did. Such a selfless act.

I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your friend. He sounds like a wonderful young man.

Where I grew up and still live, riptides are a serious hazard. We lost a young man that way once many years ago... my oldest sister was there and it still haunts her.

Sigh, sorry you have to deal with such crap in this thread PlatinumGold. Some people just like to troll for attention.

My condolences go out to all those affected. :(

thx benchiu

thx for all the support guys. i'm at work right now and i'll be honest, i really don't feel like being here. I have these incredible waves of sadness and shock, kinda like after the 9/11 thing (please don't take that offensively, i know that this isn't the same as the WTC tragedy, tho on a personal level it is).

This is the first time someone close to me died tragically like this, so it is an unusual situation for me.

anyway. the support here does help.

FYI, I'm not trolling, I'm merely asking for details.

I'm sorry if your puny brain can not comprehend this simple fact.
