another thing to try is vacancy sensors for bathrooms and storage rooms. Turn them on manually, and they turn off automatically when they sense a period of no motion. So you'll never accidently leave the light on all day.

Flourescents are a nice idea to save money, but the large majority of clients I work with (i'm an electrician) HATE the look of flourescents. Four inch 50 Watt low voltage halogen recessed fixtures are all the rage. And they want LOTS of them...

Of course they always bitch when they get their first electricity bill.. so there's no winning with them.

California's Title 24 will make it better on their wallets though..

ikea is the place to go. and avoid leaving stuff with big vampire plugs plugged in. i use ge reveal bulbs for bathroom, but rest are cf.
