You should stick with GIF's when there is text or cartoon present and JPG when it's a photo. Saving it as a JPG will cause artifacs around letters and lines. In order to do this you must save it to GIF from the "original proof" and not just convert a JPG to GIF. And yes, you are right about what a gradient is...

BTW: I am only talking about your index.jpg file that is from the main page.

Put up a gif of the index picture, however the original pic of the four icons is a jpg so nto much help there. Any other suggestions? The javascripts work on everyones' browser?

<< Is not being able to adjust the window size annoying? >>

Yes, I find this annoying.

Overall the layout is great, but I would suggest trying to avoid pop-up windows unless they are to links off-site.

Nice work!

Thanks. I really struggled with the decision to make my page a pop up with fixed dimensions. My layout and design just didn't look right with varying sizes, especially the horizontal line of pics. I figured since this is a personal site, I could go off the beaten path and sacrifize user satisfaction for my creative vision. After all, it's me I'm presenting. I wanted people to see what I saw. I know this sounds like a lot of pretencious artist jargon and I agree. hehehe...and I hate pop ups too. But I'm really comfortable with the way the site looks so far.
