For internet:
1. Install XP.
2. Install all drivers from CD. I've been using the CD's drivers for my AN35N-Ultra, get fine benchmark scores, and it has been rock stable.
3. Plug cable from router into RJ45 on the motherboard's I/O panel.
4. Wait about 15 seconds to be sure.
5. Have fun on the 'net.

Make sure you install various security patched for XP (preferably downloaded on a separate, secure machine) before you do much (if anything) else on the 'net.

Ooooo I love these. Why? I love to see cheap systems that can rock with the big boys. Lets see what we can do:

Case that's all you need screw the other PSU dynapower has a decent 12V rail. $30
CD got one
HSF- ALL COPPER LOW PROFILE Dynatron CPU Cooler for Socket A "BH-625" or speeze whisper rock 2$9.99
HD- Maxtor 40GB 7200RPM $51.00
Memory- 2 x A-DATA 184 Pin 256M DDR PC-3200 or one 512- around $78.00
Motherboard you go it, Shuttle an35n $54
Chip- Mobile 45 Watt AMD Athlon XP-M 2400+ $77.00
Video card Pricewatch.com chaintech Geforce 4 4200 will destroy FX5200/Radeon9600NP $70.

Total: $ 370 And will scream. OC chip to 2400Mhz, video to Core:275 Mem: 625 and this will utterly destroy what you have listed above.:)

Please I want replies...

I'm not planning to do serious overclocking, and I'm not planning to start off over clocking now either, I guess it's too risky (?)

But just in case I'm going to OC in the future, I heard that the RAM i chose is not good, so is this good?:
Geil Value Series 184 Pin 512MB DDR PC-3200

Would that work?

Cheap ram (if you're talking Mushkin at least) should be fine, just because you're starting off with a 166 FSB, overclocking up to 200 FSB is going to be running your $77 PC3200 in-spec anyway. If the memory craps out at that speed, you need to RMA it.

Along the lines of what others have said, I would recommend a different case, be it Antec or whatever. It's rarely the best deal to get something that comes with a crap PSU and ditch unless you really like the look of the case.

I would also get a Samsung 80G drive. It's just as fast, quieter, and arguably more reliable... and it's $0.95 cheaper! :)

I know. So I'm going to add a speeze whisper rock... this is getting complicated... Should I just stick with a Athlon XP 2500+? Or should I buy the Mobile?

No you should get a mobile 2400 and set it to 3200+ speeds. It's not overclocking if you run it at the same specs as the 3200+;) They are the same chip dispite what AMD would have you believe!!!

IE 1.65 Vcore and 200mhz bus.

What do you think? And Zebo you said I should get a 2400+? Is OCing easy? (so the 2400 can get higher) Will I need Thermal Paste and extra fans and all that stuff? I'm not going to start out OCing, so I guess I shouldn't worry about it too much... (?)

But is that computer build good? And do you think I should get a 2400 instead?

Is OCing easy?
---------
As I said you're not overclocking if you set Voltage to 1.65, bus to 200, and mulitplier to 11.:):) That's what AMD sells in a barton and those are the factory specifications it runs at. Your chip is underclocked barton so just bring it up to spec. They call it the 3200+ but never mind that, it's not important, what is important is your chip can be a 3200 for $100 less money.

Antec case just got free shipping!!

That's amazing!!:) Usually newegg hit you for 15-20 on a case.

Looks good. Abit has japanese capacitors and mosfets (Much higher Q for only $10) I don't like paying more for the same (AN35n) but if reliablity is a concern ABIT is king.

You may want to change HSF to this falcon rock only $1 more but copper center for a little better heat disapation

Yup, I can only pick one free gift, I think I'm going to pick the Newegg alarm clock w/ calculator.

You said I should pick the falconrock instead? I think it has less max air flow, or does the max air flow matter?

Oh, is that OCed? (I'm still a beginner at OCing) If it is, what fan do you use?

Yeah the standard 2500+ is at 1.8Ghz so taht is about a 500mhz Overlock.

I am using Cheap Fry's on sale KBYTE ram too. NOt to mention my MObo is another Cheap Fry's Onsale ECS.

I am however using a Koolance Water cooling system though. First generation.
