???

Why don't they just call it by it's name?

"Chicken Flavoured Imitation of Meat Substance That Isn't From Any Animal, But Sure Did Kill a Lot Of Plants"

Or something... :p

I bought a large box of them at Costco. They are OK at first but after a while I have to get up my nerve to eat them.

I find that happens anytime I buy a large box of something. Like those frozen burritos that at first I ate like 3x a week and now there is half a bag that's been in my freezer for a year.

Why don't you just eat some meat instead. Its probably cheaper and tastes better. Plus, you get the satisfaction of knowing something died because you were hungry.

The morningstar buffalo wings are so good..........

I really like the chick patties too, they taste great!

Do yourself a favor though, and stay away from the morningstar sausages. :disgust:

Are they bad? I was thinking about trying them, but normal sausage is cheap and so good, I can't imagine it would compare.

Tastes nothing like sausage, and they feel like they are made out of shredded paper. This is only my opinion though. They sell them, someone must like them.....but then again, they sell tripe too. :barf;

The pot pies are also very good if you haven't tried one of those.

Never tried the 'chicken' patties, but the buffalo wings are pretty good. Not much like chicken, but tasty nonetheless.

They are called Chik Patties, FYI. I can't believe you are still hung up on the semantics of meat substitutes.

Morning star hotdogs are really good to. Add a little bit of fake cheese and you have a meal.

I think it's this brand...

One of them sells a 'Spicey Chicken' patty that is AWESOME. I don't like their regular patties (well, they are pretty good with A1 on them), but the spicey chicken ones are truly ace.

FWIW, I'm not a vegetarian, but my wife is. So I eat a lot of vegetarian food (just not when we go out  ).

I actually prefer the Saitan fajita 'meat' over the typical alternatives (chicken strips, beef strips, etc). It doesn't really taste like anything else (IE., it's not like it's a "chicken substitute" or anything), it's just its own thing. Anyway, like I said, give the choice, I like it best for fajita fillings.

The veggie hotdogs are also pretty good, and I prefer them over 'real' hotdogs, now, too.

A lot of veggie food is ACTUALLY pretty good if you (mostly) shy away from the 'imitation' stuff. For example, there are NO veggie 'hamburgers' that taste good - they are all QUITE crap. But, you can get a Portabello burger that IS *incredibly* good.

So, in short, veggie food that tries to be some 'real' meat usually sucks...but that doesn't mean veggie food in general is bad.

Tripe can taste good if it's done properly.
