Went to throw the trash out today when I noticed a few items next to the dumpster. It was dark but I could tell they were computer cases. Noticed the Thermaltake first then noticed the other two towers behind it. The Thermaltake is empty, missing a foot, keys, and rear fan. Front two fans are still installed.

Both the Compaq and Dell are both loaded with the cpu, mobo, hard drives, RAM, etc. Surprised someone threw them out. I think I'll format and install an OS on both of the computers and give them to my nephews and nieces so they have something to play Nickjr.com games.

Ooh, looks like a Xaser. I've always been a fan of Xasers, though I've never owned one, so I don't really understand the [apparent] hate towards them.

What's inside the Compaq and Dell?

make sure to install seti@home or something on them before you give them away 🙂

Seti & WCG on the BOINC client are what I'd recommend 🙂

It seems to be a pretty nice case other than missing the foot and little banged up. Sturdy construction.

The Dell has a P4 1.8, 1 Gig of PC2100, 40gig drive, and an MX440 😀

The Compaq has a Sempron 1.8 S939, 256MB PC2100 (I think), 80 gig drive, and actually has an AGP slot 😀

Wow, that Dell's better than the comp my parents have (and the one I was using up until August of last year... nuts. Wonder why someone would throw it away; it's perfectly serviceable for normal tasks.
