... I just started my Netflix free trial. Read what some people think of it, and it sounds pretty good... with a 2 week free trial I figure, ya can't go wrong. Just wondering though... what type of membership do you Netflix members have? I mean... how many DVD's do you get shipped to you at a time?

What? You were expecting something more "interesting?" :D

No, still, I was at least expecting some sort of pity play.

I'd like to try netflix one day, I don't watch enough movies though,

I guess some people rent from Netflix and then copy them illegally... I don't understand the point in that since you can rent the same movie again whenever you want for no extra money, and have it within a few days. Mine are scheduled to come on Wednesday this week, and I just started my memebership early this morning.

Has shipping always been free both ways? I thought I remembered not wanting to try it before because I'd have to pay to ship it back, but now apparently they include a box with postage already paid to return the movies.

Seems to me like you need to get at least 5 movies per month to make it worth the $20 monthly fee. That shouldn't be a problem since there's been movies I kinda wanted to see, but didn't wanna pay $4 to see a movie that I might hate. Now I guess it doesn't matter a whole lot =)

I'm thinking of trying Hitflix. No, not for the porn. (ok maybe), but they have a bigger selection than Netflix. Has anyone tried hitflix?

Been with netflix for about a year ... so far so good. Fairly fast shipping. Nice selection of movies.

I definately watch way too many movies ... not much to do up here in upstate NY except throwing snowballs.

If you only want a movie or two a month, just rent them locally. Otherwise, this is the way to go.

Me and 2 friends were with Netflix. Myself and one of my friends was on the 3 dvd one and the other was on the 8. Anyway, at first, they ship things real fast. I'd return something at 8 am Monday, they'd email me saying they got it that day, and I'd get it Tuesday ;) The Netflix distro is 10 min from my home and I actually drop it off at the main post office in the city that the distro is located in. Anyway, it got worse over time. They'd start emailing me that they received it on Tuesday, then it would get to Wednesday. Shipping times got worse too. Eventually, I got fed up and canceled it. My friends are thinking the same.

I now use the Blockbuster deal. $25/month for 2 at a time or $30/3 at a time. You can return as many times as you can each day. The only downside is the selection.

i am doing the walmart.com dvd rental service. its $15 for 2 at a time. the distribution center is like 10 min from my house. turn around time is generally three days, which isn't bad. they have always had the movie i wanted in stock.

Hmm... looks interesting. That's the biggest put-off from Netflix is the lack of Adult selections.

I've been on the 3/$20 of Netflix for over a year.

I just joined with a couple of friends. The first 3 we ordered got lost in the mail, so not off to such a good start. But it works if you order at least 4 movies. Plus, I would see alot more movies, cause I tend to be cheap when renting. Let's see how it goes!

I've had the 3 at a time plan with Netflix for about 6 months.
I live in Southern Oregon and my discs come from somewhere in Washington.
It's about 3 days shipping each way, so 6 days turnaround total.
Which means I usually watch 3 movies per week.

So about 12 movies a month for my $20.
The closest blockbuster is about a 20 minute drive from my house, so not having to spend an hour going to and from blockbuster to get movies is a big advantage for me. That and the fact that I always have a tendency to return movies late to BB.

I've never had any discs lost in the mail or damaged or anything.
All in all, I've been very happy with Netflix. More movies for less money.

I had Netflix 2 years ago, but I dropped it because their distribution center was only in San Jose (or somewhere in CA). It took forever for the DVDs to get there and for them to ship them to me, usually 7-10 days, which I guess isn't bad for round trip 1st class. Still, that was a bit slow for me, so I dropped them. I've considered getting back into it, as there are a lot of movies I missed in theaters that I'd like to catch up on. :)

I've had the 3/$20 since late last year sometime, and I go through upwards of 20-25 per month. The distro center is in Tacoma (same county as me) so the turn time is very snappy.
