You need to be more specific with your budget and/or your definition of "high end gaming", it's pretty impossible to recommend anything otherwise.

If you want to have it built by July, start focusing into specific components in the latter half of June, not sooner. It's no use to settle onto any parts, not to mention buying them, this far ahead.

Let's get you started lehtv, Quote this post and answer these questions. Had a little trouble with that first post.

1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing.

2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread

3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.

4. IF you're buying parts OUTSIDE the US, please post a link to the vendor you'll be buying from.
We can't be expected to scour the internet on your behalf, chasing down deals in your specific country... Again, help us, help YOU.

5. IF YOU have a brand preference. That means, are you an Intel-Fanboy, AMD-Fanboy, ATI-Fanboy, nVidia-Fanboy, Seagate-Fanboy, WD-Fanboy, etc.

6. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.

7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.

8. What resolution, not monitor size, will you be using?

9. WHEN do you plan to build it?
Note that it is usually not cost or time effective to choose your build more than a month before you actually plan to be using it.

X. Do you need to purchase any software to go with the system, such as Windows or Blu Ray playback software?

bakwoods21, do you need a screen as well. If so, do you have an idea of what size you want?

9. WHEN do you plan to build it?

Question: would you like a SSD in your computer? No doubt it would make the whole thing faster, but it would affect how much would go towards the video card. Having said that, you should have enough for a decent card for gaming either way, a higher end card would of course last longer on the latest games.

definitely ssd. If that puts me over my budget a little that's ok. I don't want to sacrifice too much on my video card because its going to be mostly for gaming.

I went to Newegg and here is what I came up with. Keep in mind I do have some brand preferences at work here (Gigabyte has always served me well) and of course there are dozens of good options for a cause, so I just picked one from a good manufacturer.

My Total $1111.23

Total after mail-in rebates $1086.23

Right now comes with Intel Sega Gift - Total War: Rome II and a utilites software for free.

Let me know what you think.

Also, I don't think it's a good idea to use used eBay material with your first build. Just too much that could go wrong there.

Edit: right now you can get a GTX 760 for about $80 more. I don't care for AMD cards, so someone else will need to tell you if there is a better AMD card that would do you better.

Using your i7-930 will require an LGA1366 socket motherboard, something that is no longer in great supply at this time due to age. It also would limit performance and also would limit future upgrade potential without a total motherboard/CPU swap. Not worth it in the long run versus a current Haswell-based build.

You might build a backup system with it, if you can find a 1366 board, but I'd not use it in a current build.

If you want a bigger SSD than shown in Ketchup's build, Newegg has a PNY XLR8 240GB SSD for $119.99 after coupon code for email subscribers through 03/10/2014.

The OP already has a monitor, so you don't need to include one. That frees up a lot of the budget.

OP, I wouldn't bother using the i7 930 at this budget level.

i5 4430 + Gigabyte G1 Sniper B5 $265 AR
Team DDR3 1600 8GB $65
EVGA GTX 760 $250
Crucial M500 120GB $75
WD Blue 1TB $60
Samsung DVD Burner $15 AP
Rosewill Hive 550W $50
Corsair 200R $60
Windows 8.1 Full $120
Logitech K120 $18
Logitech G400s $60
Total: $978 AR AP

You could also get a GTX 770 for $330 if you don't mind stretching the budget over $1000.

Ok, I've done some research and Ill be buying my parts this weekend. I want to change some things. I was just wondering if anything else needs to change. GTX 770, Corsair Obsidian 650 d, Cooler Master 212 plus, I7 2600k. What Ram and Motherboard should I use? I know this is over my budget but E Bay has been good to me.
