I am satisfied with this CPU at 2.5Ghz. I leave my Computer running 24x7 running Primegrid on BOINC. I overclock only when I game - not that it helps with a 7300GT for a video card ). I will try overclocking the RAM only when the need arises for a clock speed greater than 3.25GHz.

I absolutely agree with you. My Pentium D 820 (smithfield) used to get up to 78 degree celsius when running BOINC and with room temperature 38 degrees or so but the heatsink is still comparable to some aftermarket coolers (It is difficult to cool a Pentim D). I wish you too will upgrade your processor to an E5200 or something like that. I mean the E5200 consumes like 1/3rd the power of a PentiumD while still being about 2.5 times faster.

Thats the problem with G31-chipset mobos, the memory wont run at a 1:1 divisor. Stupidest technical limitation ever.
