First off - MUCH THANKS TO ZEBO FOR HIS EXCELLENT ISOLATE/CONSOLIDATE GUIDE AND GOGAR FOR HIS OPTIMIZER.


CPU maxed at 2420,
RAM at 215,
FSB @ 310+(I didn't go farther than 310).

CPU volts @1.5, DIMM volts @ 2.8

Final results:
AMD Venice 3200 @ 2420 (10*242)
G.Skill DDR400 @ 5:6, 166, DDR333 (DDR403), 1T, 2-3-6

CPU temp ~49 degrees Celcius at cotinuous full load.

Epox 9NPA Ultra
Antec 500 Watt
ATI 1800XL


What adjustments can I make? I feel like perhaps I should be able to go slightly higher. . . not sure if I can push the volts up more. I realize I'm limited by my memory.

Any comments would be greatly appricated.
 
i run mine at 250mhz, 4x with 10x multiplier and 1.525 volts. Full load temps barely break 40 thanks to the Big Typhoon!!
 
"Only" 2420 with a Venice? What cooling do you use?
If you are already close to 50C I would improve cooling before pushing volts further.
With good cooling 1.55-1.6 is still safe...
 
I kinda had the same problem with my 3000 winnie but the was just cause the cpu was one of the first run cores.I could get 500mhz out of my 3000 newcastle but still really
high temps around 50*C. Now running a 3700 clawhammer I can get aroud 600mhz
stable. board asus k8vse cooling a venus 12 temp mid 30's and load little over 40
 
Dont worry about your mem... can always use different divider!

My OC:

3000+ Venice (rev. E6...) stock 200x9 = 1800MHz @ 295x8.5 = 2510MHz

CPU VCORE @ 1.55

MAX Load temp i.e. 16 hrs PRIME 95 = 52C

MEM - 266, DDR 300 @ DDR 388 bit under.....but apparently 'CPU speed is king...!!!!' i agree totally 😛

 
I'm cooling with a Thermalright XP-90 with panaflo fans - one over the heatsink, 2 80's in front and one 120 out the back.

I'm using 242 as a stable overclock since I falied Prime95 at 255.

Since I went through all the steps on Zebro's guide I guess I'm good to go.

How repsectable is 2420 Mhz on a 3200 Venice?
 
SOUNDS GOOD TO ME ESPECIALLY IF ITS AN E6...

mine is achieved with cheap HSF (prob worse than retail lol) and no other case cooling, but, ambient temp quite low UK resident !!

alright got my ram from ZZF today
the newest kingston hyper x.....week 06 and yr 06
i donno what kinda chip they using cuz it kinda sucked....however it runs dual channel fine

my rig
3000+ venice -> 2520mhz (1.385V)
kingston hyper x 512x2 -> 2-2-2-5 @ 180mhz (2.8v)

cannot break HTT 280x9 no matter what i do...loosen the time or raise up ram voltage
