My First Overclock on my X2 3800+ :-}

Volts @ 1.3875 (CPU-Z reports 1.376?)
Memory 333mhz (i think?)

any suggestions?

edit: now i'm at 2.6mhz with 1.4V

i'd like some advice, i don't wanna ruin my computer

Run dual SP2004 instances to check for stability, or S&M, & then continue bumping her up

Why not? For many a 12-24 hour prime95 testing is standard for verifying the stability of an overclock.

i can do it during the day for sure

right now it's at 2.6 @ 1.4V

ps. when i was running Dual SP2004, one of them was lagging behind by like 3 tests

also, do i check no affinity? i had 1 at cpu:0 and the other at cpu:1

Uncheck no affinity & have it set to core 0 for one, & core 1 for the other.

That's a bit odd, but you're not getting errors there, which is all that matters in this case

what i did was uncheck 1 CPU for each SP2004 thru Task Manager

hopefully that works

testing ...

ps. do u think i should bump my Volts? i'm at 2.6mhz 1.4V now

also my temps never move from 40c, idle or full load ... no change

i'm using AMD Cool'n'Quiet Dashboard

Hmm, personally, i'd go with about, i dunno, say .5V vcore with 2.6mhz, that's one crazy underclock, you could have saved alot of money and gone with a 486......

i never planned on OCing

just doing it for fun

and yes i could have saved a lot of money but oh well, i'm not losing sleep over it - i'm very happy

Ha ha, I might have missed it if you guys didn't keep on pointing it out.

BTW, that's a crazy underclock for a 486 or even an original 8088 -- it was 4.77 MHz.

All right, since I'm here, grats rox1co, that's a nice OC. I couldn't get my 3800 past 2.5 without boosting the voltage higher than 1.47, and dropping the RAM multiplier further so didn't -- and I even brought it down to 2.4. As you probably know, anyone can get nice OC numbers with an unstable system. The trick is to OC and ensure you have a stable system, and you can only know if it's stable with lots of testing...

And in case you STILL don't get it. You put 2.6MHz. You meant 2.6GHz Gigahertz (billion times per second) not Megahertz (million times per second)
