My First Krispy Kreme

Just finished eating my first Krispy Kreme donut and I must say I'm not impressed. Tasted like any other donut and wasn't anything spectacular. In fact my mouth feels like it's coated with wax now and I'm guessing it's from all the fat. My stomach is not feelign quite right and I've kinda got that pre puke feeling. I actually think I would have enjoyed a spoonful of Crisco more and would have achieved the same effect. Back to Daylight Donuts for me.

No!!! :| That's my only sugar for the day I only get 1 donut (cinnamon honey bun), and a cup of coffee

I wasn't too impressed with Krispy Kreme when I had my first one a while back. My all time favorite donuts so far are Shipleys.

i like KK better than most other donuts i've had. they're good even a couple days later.

Yeah, I wasn't terribly impressed the first time I ate there either. I'm quite happy with my Dunkin Donuts for now.

KKs are pretty low on my list of the favorite donuts. When I first moved to the south everyone said I have to try the best donuts ever. I have to say they were pretty nasty.

Obviously not many people who have had KKs, have ever had donuts from the little Amish bakeries around Lancaster, PA. Best donuts I ever had were from Maple Donut in York, PA.

yeah, I thought they were pretty weak too, when I eat a Donut I expect it to atleast have some effect on my stomach, you have to eat the full dozen yourself before you even remotly fill you up.... some places have cream filled, they have AIR filled.

There just donuts. I prefer a big fat omelete with sausage, cheese, and onion. A side of sausage patties and two orders of hash browns and a Bagel with cream cheese.

ttn1, I always thought Krispy Kremes were a northern thing anyway? I had never heard of them until I moved to Dallas, which is almost as much a northern city as anything in New England. You want a real good donut, find a Southernmaid. Those are the best chain donuts I have ever had. Otherwise just find some Mom and Pop donut place. They are usually better than a chain store. Just my 2 cents.

You must have had a bad one if you think KK isn't that great. KK's are awesome, but I have to admit, they do give me stomach pains for some reason. I don't eat them anymore, since they're SO bad for you. But they are damn good!
