gneitzke69: Yes, they are at a very good price. And it is a good first hot deal post.

Unfortunately Evertek requires that a purchaser be a registered reseller with them.

If only I could find a decent price on a dual or quad motherboard for these CPUs.

Cool find, too bad about the reseller part.

BTW, the 19.50 is only if you purchase 4 or more, if you purchase 1-3 they're 22.25, not that that's bad either.:D

I think a similar deal for the same price was already posted a while ago. You need to make sure you have voltage regulators for these I think. Do a search for past posts. I think you may need a gx board for these too and not just a standard dually bx.

What is the difference between p2 450, and the xeon p2 450?
Because the LA cache is 512 on the XEON wouldnt it be the same as the p2 in performance?

Man, this newbie topic comes up about twice a month.

PII 512K cache Xeons are not much of a deal AT ANY PRICE, except
if you want to buy them for the heatsinks (and then the price
had better be around $15).

Reason: There are no cheap Xeon motherboards. Anyone willing
to spring the bucks to get a Xeon motherboard is not going to
buy these low end processors when, for a bit more, you can get
PII 450 2Mb cache processors (or low end PIII Xeons).

Difference is the L2 cache on the Xeon is at the full processor speed where the regular PII cache is at 1/2 the processor speed.

I would love to go Xeon, but I can't find a motherboard for under 200 bucks. If I could, I would jump on it. Xeon processors run at a much faster speed than standard Pentium II processors due to thier direct access of the cache at full speed of the processor.
