anyone know what form of the receipt to send in with rebate-- either the confirmation email from dell, or the shipping slip on side of box it comes shipped in???

which one? i assume the shipping slip, as the confirmation email is more a congratulatory letter, as opposed to a receipt.

i would request a separate receipt thru dell's website. it will get to you in 2-3 days. i had a rebate denied when i sent that paper they send you that says not a receipt on it.

And the waiting begins .....

*from the Dell order status page*

Currently one or more items are not available. Every effort is being made to complete your order.

I'm suprised nobody has mentioned that "Samsung Syncmaster 950p --------> 950b" scam that Dell pulled on everybody about 5 months ago? I'm sure you can read all about it if you do a search here. Thing is i've been waiting for this exact (955DF) deal to come around againm, but I'm going to wait before I do a monitor from Dell again. I hate rebates also, it's only a matter of time until this deal rolls around again with no rebates, 955DF monitor shipped for about $180.00 - $200.00.

It's still a great deal, I just hope all of you who order the 955DF get the 955DF.

Can someone PM me with instructions to get a receipt from Dell. I searched all over their website but came up with nothing.

what receipt do i use for the rebate? also, anandtech reviews say that for this monitor, 1280x1024 @ 75hz is fine, but 1600x1200 @ 60hz is bad. you think its bad for me to increase the refresh rate to 65hz? :D i got it stable @ 65hz 1600x1200

You will get receipt (original invoice) in mail 2-3 weeks after the monitor. Use that one because Samsung is asking for ORIGINAL not electronic copy. Dell customer service is nuissance.

I run my Sony Trinitron on 60 Mhz on 1152x864 though theoretically I can go to 85 Mhz at that resolution and I have no problem watching it. The best frequency for human eye is supposedly 70-80 Mhz (theory). But higher frequency means higher power consumption too. Choose what you like but do not go over the number in monitor specification.
955DF is OK monitor, excellent for its price range.

Thanks for the info, Barabas, since Dell CS is really BS!
My 955DF arrived yesterday and I'm looking at it now - better than my CUSA Envision after Christmas special for the same price with tax and AR. I think my light use 17" Princeton oldie at work finally will get updated by the Envision!
And I gotta believe Samsung's rebate will come quicker than Envision's did, even with the wait for Dell's real receipt.
Thanks for the deal Frontliner, and all the helpful info from the rest of you!

today i got exceptional service from Dell (yes, those two words can go together).
yesterday, I gave them an email asking why I haven't recieved an email concerning the 3 times i requested the invoice.
Then today they gave me a reply saying the invoiced had been processed on friday and it will take about 10 days to come to my mailbox. She also submitted a request for a certified copy of my invoice via email.
I got to admit, this is the first time I got good service from them. Her name is Alice from Dell Customer care.
