Why get a gas card unless you're getting some great perks (like Shell's 1% cash rebate or 5% on gas purchases). So what do I do?

I've never applied for a gas card and probably never will.

I charge everything on my Alaska Airlines/BOFA VISA earning miles like crazy or my CitiBank Dividend Platinum Select which earns 1% cash rebate, no annual fee and 0% APR on balance transfers for 1 year!

Be careful with that credit card. After a while they start raising your limit and you start spending more cause you know you have CC when your low in cash.I had to learn my lesson the hard way.

my first and only CC is a B of A Visa with a $1500 limit. Got it right when I turned 18, been using it for the last 3 years. I need to get a new one with benefits, but that requires effort so I am gonna just stick with it for now.

That's great assuming you use the cc every now and then and have never had a late payment. When you apply for your next cc (it is a chore) make sure to get one with lotsa perks :)

yah, I have never been late on a payment yet (though I have come close :) ) I want to apply for the AMEX blue card but I need to get a dumb AT&T thing wiped off my credit report first (don't ask, lets just say they screwed up and I have not gotten around to fixing it)

As for using my CC every now and again... he he he. I use it WAAAAAY too much. It goes like that saying some of us know from the hot deals fourum, "I saved so much I'm broke now"

Amex Blue used to be hip, cool and the cc to get but since they did away with BVG it's no longer appealing to me.
