Hi, i'm currently looking for a Windows Mobile smartphone, and opted for the Motorola mpx 220. Seems good and cheap.
But i really don't know witch carrier to choice. Im located in NB (Canada). Since i won't make alot of phone calls, I guess it's better and cheaper to pick 'pay as you go' right? But i saw on a website that those $10 cards are only available for like 45 days. Wow, really? Can't get cheaper? Anyone have something to suggest me? because I can't really spend 200-300$/yr on a cellphone for just some few calls. (maybe 1h/month

Carrier choice depends on which one has the strongest signal in the area you will be calling from most.

First, I hope you didnt pay for that MX 220. That has got to be one of the buggiest phones ever made. But if you are going to keep it, you need to go with a GSM carrier since it is a GSM phone (is it unlocked?). Rogers and Fido are the 2 Canadian GSM carriers that I know of. If you go prepaid, sure the minutes only last 45 days, but if you buy more minutes before you use the minutes you have, you get to roll over the unsused minutes to the new expiration date. If they last 45 days and you dont use them all before they expire, it looks like you can have your service for $80/yr plus whatever it costs to get a starter kit w/ a sim card (there are a few on ebay.ca right now for $.01, comes with sim, activation, and 125 minutes).

Doesn't seem like you are going to spend your money's worth at 1hr a month.

T-Mobile USA prepaid offers similar time for $10Startup (90Days). You have to buy the $100 card that will expire in 1 Year which is the best deal.
I suggest looking more into your prepaid plans.

Also are you going to really need a Smartphone? First you won't be making calls. Second with prepaid and I heard that Data is costly even on postpaid in Canada.
