not to bad i think, i was expecting over 1400.. haven't decided which OS yet most likely going to get the Windows Vista 64 bit OEM for 99 bucks

oh and i may do some overclocking with this setup

Any reason why you choose the e8600 over the e8400 or e8500? The motherboard might a little overkill as you'll probably be fine with the Asus P5Q Pro or Asus P5Q Deluxe. You might as well get DDR2 1000 ram instead of 1066. 750 psu is a little overkill. You're probably fine with the 550 or even the 650 (which i have).

figured it wont hurt to have a little more at stock with the 8600

..yea i might scaled back a little on the psu and yes the ddr2 1000 is 30 bucks cheaper.. but do people see a diffrence between 1000 and 1066? im guessing no

No real performance loss moving to DDR2-1000. For that matter, the 166 MHz speed increase of the E8600 over the E8500 is definitely not worth the money.

yea your right.
if i OC the 8500 i can get the same results as OCing the 8600 right?

edited some parts going with 8500 and cheaper ram

cost at $1,192.90 =D im getting excited

Yeah. By that logic you could get the E8400 instead and save more cash.

Motherboard is overpriced.

any suggestions?

i really want a quality mobo

smith suggested Asus P5Q Pro or Asus P5Q Deluxe, so im looking at those now.

I was torn between the Corsair 520HX and the Enermax Modu82+ 525W but ended up going with the Modu82+ since it is newer and was at the same price but they both offer practically the same.

These are both modular so you pay a bit more for them that standard PSUs but to me it was worth it, less clutter, better air flow, easier to work with.

There is likely no reason to get the Deluxe so I got the Pro myself and saved $100 right there.

Yeah. I would suggest you get the p5q pro as it's a good board unless you really need all that other fancy stuff that the deluxe provides. I wish I had bought the p5q pro when I built my computer. I didn't realize it was only $10 more 🙁

lol yea trying to get my monies worth is tough choosing the right motherboard is really hard for me i think
