My first build, please help see if it's fine.

Looks good, I do recomend getting a WD SATA II drive however, it actualy performs better than my raid-0 raptors did for video encoding. Better burst rate and sustained rate than a standard SATA drive. Nothing wrong with seagate either, they are usualy quieter and have the best waranty at the moment, just my personal preferance.

Is my cooling fan ok? How does my PSU look? Are all of my parts compatible? Thanks in advance 🙂

Fan is fine... but i might reccomend getting a Panaflo instead (only if you have a fan controller, or dont mind noise though)

the PSU is a good choice, wouldnt change that

and everything looks compatible.

Your all set

Can you tell me what a Panaflo is? Can you provide me with a link to it?

Should handle those just fine.

Should? That makes it sound kind of shaky... Will it or not?

yes it will, plus the 3200venices have good o/c overhead for when/if you need more speed.

I don't think i will ever overclock in my life.

Also, is there a way to keep the 3200+ but reduce the overall price to around 700?

Get OEM memory...

🙂

how are you going to get 1GB much cheaper than $85?

op - stay with the memory you selected.

you could get a different case, like one of the ~$60 antec ones that come with a psu as a 350W would be fine your rig. that would save you ~$100, get a different m/b, i think i viewed on newegg that they have a deal when you buy a amd cpu and get a decent gigabyte m/b for $79.99, get rid of the sony dvd-rom drive

yeah, good suggestion. definately lower the price of the case. the antec sonata II is good.

I agree, I have the Sonata II, great case, comes with a 450w Antec PSU, has good airflow, quiet, and costs about $70 less than the case and PSU you were planning to get.

I take it you missed Blizzard's other posts... (note the 🙂 )

Depending on how heavy you are into video editing I might recommend an AMD64 X2 3800+ instead of your current processor. I'd also recommend getting 2GB of RAM (video editing apps and photoshop like RAM). Again, depending on your video editing needs, I might get a larger HD. Video files can suck up space fast.

did a quick search, i don't pay attention to who writes the questions, i just try to help whenever possible, but can see now why the "oem" comment. blizzard seems a little crazy😕

looks good but i'd ditch the DVD-ROM unless it's a piece from an old system....if you're doing video editing, u do need a decent video card right?
