My first build & I'm worried about the DFI nF4 Ultra-D

..or do you have to manually set the bios on the first boot? I've changed parts, etc, on PC's... but have never done anything in the bios. Is the EPoX EP-9NPA+ultra any more beginner friendly? I'm just a little worried because I've read some posts about the DFI being hard to get adjusted correctly to run stable.
Later, I hope to do a mild OC, on air, to 2.2-2.4Ghz.
gonna buy; Opty 165, 2gig G-skill HZ, 7800GTX

Thanks for any hints or reassurance. Russ

board works fine on auto everything... for me, at least...

it's a little finicky about memory, didn't seem to like my hyperx...

but i always set everything to auto when i change memory and stuff... u never know how new stuff's going to behave, so start at auto and then work your way up...

As far as bios goes, you'll need to update it to recognize your dual core processor. It's quite easy to update it though because you can just download your bios and then use winflash to backup the old bios and update it witht he new bios.

Edit: Or if you'd like, you can do it the old fashioned floppy way. But doing it through windows with winflash was much easier for me.

FYI, the Epox is very user friendly to answer your question. I love mine. Thats why I picked it over the DFI. I can do over 300fsb easy on this board. Great overclocker and rock stable. No issues like some people have on the dfi.
