I am expecting all parts to arrive next week.

With the cables that come with the motherboard and the PSU should I be worrying about getting sata cables for the Hard Drive and the Samsung DVD+R?

Are there drivers for the Hard Drive that I should install before I try to format and install Vista?

Should I get a cable for the Floppy Drive?

It seemed like I had more questions than this when I started this thread but for the life of me I can't remember them.

I am quite excited about this. It is going to be a big leap from my current rig. A 1998 Gateway Select Series PC with Windows 98 updated to Windows XP Home and 64 megs of memory updated to 384 megs of memory.

Thanks for any help.

Regards,

imbasic

According to GIGABYTE your MB comes with 1 x IDE cable, 1 x Floppy cable, 4 x Serial ATA cable, 1 x Serial ATA internal to external cable so, you're good to go.

I know you're excited but Please read the MB manual before putting the machine together.

Thanks MagnusTheBrewer,

Oh most definitely will read the manual from front to back probably several times along with the other manuals that come with the other parts. I will also be referring to the manuals as I am putting the machine together. Along with some web sites opened that have computer building guides for this.

The thread at the top of this forum ~~~ Computer-building resource thread ~~~ has some good links in it that I plan on researching and having open to refer to as I build.

Thanks kindly for your advice and answer.:)
