I love the first pic. I just wish you had somehow gotten the whole moon instead of the top getting cropped out. I understand how difficult it is, so, it's very impressive regardless.

I was playing around with my video camera during the last lunar eclipse we had and tried getting some shots of the moon. I didn't have a tripod at the time... so... I zoomed in and held the camera as steady as I could. Of course, it was like watching a game of PONG (minus the paddles) when I played back the tape. I now have a tripod but haven't played with astronomy stuff yet... too busy filming the neighbors. :D J/K!!!

I once read about some websites that talk about CCD recording of the stars (from a thread over at slashdot), there was one particular site that explained how you could get some awesome photos using a telescope and video camera combo. I just looked it up: Sharper Images Through Video. One of these days I'll give this stuff a try...

Once again, thanks for the pics. Great job.

If only i had the moola and if only I wasn't a canadian!!

Not bad kami :)

I have a 8 inch Newtonian with clock drive and a 3.2 MP Olympus 3000 zooom.
Unfortunately because of the weight of the camera, the diameter and postion of the tube,I cannot take pics :(
This telescope does take excellent corona pics of the sun though :)

Great pics! I think you should share it at Dpreview.com. A lot of the members over there actually have a bunch of moon shots. They look pretty good, as well.

Nice. :)

I tried doing that about a year ago with my dads SLR and my binoculars in my hand. Yeah, I know. Stupid idea. It was never going to work. Just a black picture. I had a go at least.

More! :D

In the past, I've taken photos of the moon using my Meade 90EC telescope - uses the Takahishi mirror like someone mentioned earlier. This telescope is a mere 90mm and I could see shadows on the moon pretty easiely; but then again, I was using my astronomy CCD camera.

Now, lemmy go try to scrounge a couple pics up to show..

wow, I'm impressed :)

I didn't know that the moon'd look that nice and clear from a telescope. ;)

Nice pics ! real nice.

I once tried taking shots of the moon without any zoom or telescope, way to dark and nothing to see. But these are great !

I have some pics of the Leonids (I hope) I have yet to get them developed.

Took them with a regular camera, and my scanner is broke.

Will look for someone else with a scanner when I do, and if in fact any came out. If so, I'll post here.

It was my first try at astrophotography. I'd like to get some moon, Jupiter and Saturn shots soon.

Nebula are a different animal, and will need to get some nice tracking equiptment in the future.

That's in the future that is.
