My first attempt at making a photo look "infrared"

Looks good, but I can tell by looking at it that it is not infrared. Here's a good way to make it look infrared: shoot it infrared ;).

Still a good looking picture.

And flickr is da bomb!!

I shoot digital (Nikon D70), and thanks :)

Did you shoot the image with an IR filter then convert, or just do the conversion from a regular color image?

It was a summer semester abroad law program... I'm a 3rd year law student here in FL....

I wish i was a Rhodes scholar :)

Regular color conversion....

I've been looking online for a nice IR filter, but good ones are well over $100.

Good first start. It still looks too much like B/W still. The contrasts are too even and the sky is not dark enough against the clouds. Also, the tree in the background looks wrong.
