My first attempt at making a photo look "infrared"

Looks good, but I can tell by looking at it that it is not infrared. Here's a good way to make it look infrared: shoot it infrared 😉.

Still a good looking picture.

And flickr is da bomb!!

Way too much detail for it to be in IR.

Scary IR!

True Infrared Photography does NOT look what you posted.

IR film yields a MUCH different result than IR optics and detectors.

You studied at Oxford? Wouldn't happen to be on a Rhodes scholarship would it? :Q

Did you shoot the image with an IR filter then convert, or just do the conversion from a regular color image?

Regular color conversion....

I've been looking online for a nice IR filter, but good ones are well over $100.

Good first start. It still looks too much like B/W still. The contrasts are too even and the sky is not dark enough against the clouds. Also, the tree in the background looks wrong.
