Hey all this is my first custom PC build that I have put together for said price in title. Anyway I am not a professional or anything on this and was just wondering dose this build all fit together physical and performance wise. What are the pros and cons and what changes would you do? My budget is maxed out at 1500€ (£1300) ($2050) so it can’t go over that. I’m mainly wondering does it fit and what case would you recommend. In case you’re wondering the specs (parts) below are a total of 1375€ (£1190) ($1880) I have left 125€ (£145) ($170) to buy the case. Your suggestions, comments and criticism are much appreciated, thank you.

SPECS (PARTS)

Mobo: Asus SABERTOOTH Z77
CPU: Intel 3rd Gen Ivy Bridge i7 3770K
Ram: Corsair Vengeance 16GB 2 modules
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 120mm
GPU: EVGA GF GTX 670 2GB FTW
SSD: Crucial M4 128GB
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB
Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24B5ST 24x Internal SATA DVD Drive
PSU: Corsair HX750 Professional Series 80 PLUS Gold
OS: Microsoft Windows 8 64 bit OEM/Microsoft Windows 7 64 bit OEM (Don’t know which one yet)

Please do not cross-post in other forums. I have merged all of your threads here.

As always, filling out the sticky at the top of the forum is strongly suggested. Without any more details, here are my thoughts:

Mobo: Overpriced. You could save money to use other places by stepping down to a more basic board.

CPU: If you're doing heavily multithreaded stuff, it's fine. If you're just doing gaming and other tasks not optimized for multiple cores stick with a 3570K.

RAM: If you're just gaming you'll probably not use more than 8GB. If you're doing other stuff that's memory-heavy 2x8GB is a good choice. I would look for low-profile modules though (or at least sticks without heat-spreaders) so as not to interfere with your cooler.

SSD : On your budget you should be able to afford a larger SSD, especially if you step down some of you other parts to better values. 128GB fills up faster than you would expect when you factor in the OS and updates that grow over the life of the computer.

PSU: Probably overpriced unless you're getting a great deal. For your machine with a single video card a 500W PSU is plenty.

Your build seems a little GPU weak for a $2050 build (unless GPUs are crazy expensive in europe).
I would recommend skimping on that 3770k and buying a GTX680, or you know what? Lets think big. Skimp on the Mobo, CPU and HD and buy a GTX690!!!

Nice setup :)

One bit of feedback, unless you have plans to do SLi or put in some kind of beastly (and OC'ed) GPU, you don't need to spend so much on such a high-wattage PSU.

Not that it is an unwise investment, definitely provides a degree of future proofing in the event of upgrading and so on. But it is total overkill for your currently spec'ed rig.

Not certain you need such a high-end motherboard, could easily trim some cost by going to a lower board, say an Extreme4 or Extreme6 from ASRock.

Also, the M4 SSD is a somewhat older drive now, not bad at all but there are better drives for similar price range. Check out Samsung 840 Pro drives for example.

The M4 plays second fiddle to quite a few drives, including the Vertex3 and the Samsung 830, in addition to the Samsung 840 (non-pro). It is faster than the Vertex 2 and the Intel G2. (I have all these SSDs)

But it isn't a slouch either. It will be plenty fast enough. What it really comes down to is price. If a comparably sized Vertex3, Samsung 830 or 840 can be obtained for the same (or better) price as an M4 then the M4 ought to be passed over in favor of the faster SSD.

I don't really have anything constructive to add build wise, but only to add on to what DSF said. I bought this set of ram cause of the reviews and they are super low profile, they look like half ram sticks.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820147096

Also, I have that exact SSD, and he is correct about it filling up. It starts with 119gb and once the operating system and updates are on there, it is around the 90gb mark. However, I personally have everything I need on it for work, and will never have less than 60gb free. So make sure you are in the same boat.

Allright. I registered for a minute now to check the ANANDtech forums.
I do a lot of recommadations on a dutch site: Tweakers.net

What I see on your system is that it is overkill. You got very expensive components wich won't give you noticeable performance increase.

At first I want to ask you a few questions:
-What do you want to do with the system (Photo/video editing, gaming)
-You want to overclock? And why?
-How many monitors do you have?
-Do you have a preference for AMD or Nvidia?

What country are you from ?
What are you gonna do with the PC ?

If you are a gamer, or just plan on doing regular stuff (surfing, email, watching videos, etc), then buying a i7 is a waste of money. Get the i5-3570K in stead. Save an easy 80 euros. Also, you're never gonna use those 16GB. Get 8GB, save 40 euros.

Put that money (120-150 euros) into a faster videocard (gtx680 or 7979GE). Or into a bigger SSD (256GB). It'll be better use of your money. Or just save it, and buy your next machine in 3 years from now, in stead of 4 years.

If you do video-editing, or some other really heavy compute stuff, and you know the software you will use can make use of multi-threading, then it might be worth it to buy an i7 and 16GB of RAM. But for most user, an i5 and 8GB is more than enough. (Even for the next 3-4 years).

I would save some money on the motherboard and CPU (go for 3570K instead) and go for a GTX680 or 7970.

I just opened up Anandtech and this thread is shown in the top 3 categories (CPU, Video and Motherboard) all with exact same post.

Better suited for General Hardware.

I would go 3570k and 7950/7970

Also, if this is just gaming, Going from 16GB to 8GB will save you some money since you will see no difference. (Depending what else you do)

I would suggest posting this in the General Hardware forum and filling out the form that is in one of the sticky posts for new system builders.

While I don't think your part choices are off, it is a very high end build, not sure if you need it or not. Part of it all depends on how picky you are. I also dont know what the prices are like in the UK vs here in the states, as I would think for 2k you could get an SLI setup, or at least a GTX680, but I could be wrong (I don't tread in those waters very much anymore :) ).

Well SnakeZ,
Those game aren't very hard games for the newest graphics cards ;)

I suppose it's a 1920*1080 resolution monitor?

I check the site and choose some components for you

CPU: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Intel-I5-34...1_3?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1359739137&sr=1-3

Motherboard: http://www.amazon.co.uk/ASRock-B75-...1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1359739248&sr=1-1

RAM: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CML...1_8?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1359739326&sr=1-8

SSD : http://www.amazon.co.uk/Crucial-CT1...1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1359739407&sr=1-1

HDD : http://www.amazon.co.uk/Seagate-Bar...1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1359739446&sr=1-1

PSU: http://www.amazon.co.uk/550w-Power-...1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1359739493&sr=1-1

GPU: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sapphire-11...1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1359739520&sr=1-1

Optical drive: Don't know. The most of them are good ;)

OS: I prefer W7 instead of W8.

Case: (did you forgot?) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fractal-Des...1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1359739656&sr=1-1

CPU Cooler: (If you want? u will have a more silent PC) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Scythe-Shur...1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1359739694&sr=1-1

My final words about this set-up:
The GPU is choose for the 7870 xt because it's an Unique model. It's acutaly a 7950! Very great GPU fot that price!

The SSD is 128GB, thats usually not enough. It would be filled up in no-time. Sooner than you think ;) I prefer 256GB because those are in every way superior. Like speed, lifespan, remaining of speed when ssd is filled up. etc. Also the price/gb is lower. (Not the price to buy the product ;) )

2TB is a good HDD choise (you already did found this one too :D ) Do you think you can fill this up? otherwise get 1tb :p

2TB is price/gb a lot lower then the 1TB, that's why is seems a really good choise. And the type SSD are also very good at performance and trustablility.

A PSU of 750W is way to much. I got 550W and that is already to much :p.

Do you really want an Nvidia card? I can find an other for you. :p This card is just the best price/performance.

Any questions?

The GTX 660ti Would be good! Not at much bang for the buck as the Nvidia card in the link...
Otherwise the GTX 670, what already overkill is, but more future proof.

GTX 680 is overpriced in my opinion. GTX 670 is a better choise ;)
In your case I would go for the GTX 660ti. And a bigger SSD capacity
