Played XG, never played XenoSaga. Remembering back to when all the reviews came out, the item that stuck out was the game was bland and it wasn't all that fun...

Anyways to be fair its more of a general ran. I'll keep XG in mind moving forward - right now I'm trying to play FF12 , which I bought when it launched but never played, and just started a little bit ago. I'm already annoyed that I'm a 16 year old (AGAIN....sigh) so we'll see how long this lasts...but as of yet I'm still in the phase of the game where I'm just acting like a thief as opposed to saving the world on my high horse.

Not to spoil anything, but one thing to remember about Final Fantasy XII, that the "main character" (Vaan) is a throwaway character who has little to no impact on the story, at least not nearly as much as the *true* main characters. The fact that they chose him as sort of the "default main character" to start the game with, IMO, is poor story-telling, and his presence always seems forced and artificial. That's actually a good thing.
